What types of pets do you care for?


We specialize in dog walking and cat care, but we also love and care for small pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, bearded dragons, turtles, fish, frogs, and more. If it fits in your home and has a heartbeat, we're here for it.

What areas do you serve?

​

​We currently serve: North Charleston, Hanahan, Goose Creek, Park Circle, Ladson, Downtown Charleston, and a few areas of Summerville (Carnes Crossroads, Wescott, and other neighborhoods around Dorchester Road). Not sure if you're in our service area? Just reach out and we’ll be happy to check.

Do you offer recurring services?

​

Yes, we do! And clients who book four or more M - F midday dog walks and/or adventure walks per week on a recurring schedule receive 10% off.

Will I have the same dog walker or pet care provider every time?

​

​We work as a team to ensure availability and coverage. While we can’t guarantee the same dog walker or pet care provider for every visit, every Paws Up! team member is trained, background-checked, and committed to providing consistent, top-notch care.

Can you give my pet medication?

​

Yes, we can administer oral or topical medications to pets who are comfortable with the process. Just let us know what your pet needs during your consultation.

*Please note that time-sensitive meds may incur a small fee.

How will I know how the visit went?

​

​After every visit, you’ll receive a detailed visit report through our client app, Time to Pet, with notes, photos, and updates so you always know your pet is safe, happy, and cared for.

Do you offer boarding or overnight stays?

​

​Not at this time. We focus on in-home care, daily visits, and enrichment walks that keep your pets happy, healthy, and comfortable in their own environment.

​Can I tip my dog walker or pet care provider?

​

Absolutely! They will love you for it! Our dog walkers and pet sitters work hard to provide outstanding service for our beloved clients. Your tips are always appreciated!

We set up each new client account with a 20% auto tip feature during onboarding. You are welcome to change the percentage or ask us to remove it. Your sitters receive 100% of the tips you leave.

​Do you have a Rewards Program or a Referral Program?

 

Rewards Program: Yes, we sure do! We offer a 10% discount (reward) for any client on a recurring schedule of four or more M - F midday dog walks and/or adventure walks per week.

Referral Program: If you’re a Paws Up! client and refer a new client, you will each receive up to $30 off your next service once they have booked with us.

What is your cancellation policy?

​

Our cancellation policy depends on the type of service you book. Here is a simple breakdown so you always know what to expect.

Daily M to F Midday Dog Walks and Potty Breaks

  • More than 24 hours notice: no charge

  • Within 24 hours but before 8 p.m. the night before: 50 percent fee

  • After 8 p.m. the night before or same day: full rate

Pet Sitting and Cat Care Services

  • More than 14 days notice: no charge and your 50 percent deposit becomes an account credit (valid for 6 months)

  • 7 to 14 days notice: 50 percent of your total booking (deposit forfeited)

  • Less than 7 days notice: full amount due

  • No refunds or credits if you return home early
    Pet sitting and cat care reservations require a non-refundable 50 percent deposit at booking.

Holiday Cancellations

  • Cancellations made with less than 7 days notice: full rate, including holiday fees
    Holiday reservations require a non-refundable 50 percent deposit when booked.

Please note:
Paws Up! does not issue refunds for canceled services. We provide account credits that can be used toward future services and remain valid for 6 months.

Do you offer holiday services?

​

Yes, we do. Holidays are one of our busiest times, and all holiday visits include a non-refundable holiday fee. Here is how it works:

Holiday Fee (5 dollars per visit)
Applied during:

  • Martin Luther King Jr Weekend (Sat to Mon)

  • Columbus Day Weekend (Sat to Mon)

  • Easter Weekend (Sat to Mon)

  • Memorial Day Weekend (Sat to Sun)

  • Independence Day Weekend

  • Labor Day Weekend (Sat to Sun)

Holiday Fee (10 dollars per visit)
Applied on:

  • Memorial Day (Monday)

  • Independence Day

  • Labor Day (Monday)

  • Thanksgiving Weekend (Fri to Sun)

  • Christmas Eve

  • New Year’s Eve

Holiday Fee (additional 50 percent per visit)
Applied on:

  • Thanksgiving Day

  • Christmas Day

  • New Year’s Day

Holiday reservations fill quickly, so we always recommend booking early.

Are your dog walkers and pet sitters trained?

​

Yes. Every Paws Up! team member completes formal training through PetSit Pro, along with an additional Understanding Dog Body Language course taught by a certified trainer. New staff also shadow our experienced team members before handling any solo visits. This ensures your pets receive safe, consistent, high quality care.

Do you offer visits outside of your regular hours?

​

Our standard visit hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. We do not offer visits earlier or later than that. Many of our pet sitting clients arrange for a neighbor or family member to stop by for a late night potty break if needed. We will review your pet’s routine during your consultation to help plan what works best.

Can you care for reactive, shy, or anxious dogs?

​

Yes. We work with many different personalities and are happy to help as long as your dog’s needs can be safely managed during the visit. You can share more during your consultation and we will create a plan that supports their comfort.

​

How far in advance should I book services?

​

If you know your dates, we recommend scheduling as soon as possible. Midday walks and cat visits can often be booked with short notice, but weekends, holidays, and pet sitting reservations fill quickly. Booking early ensures you get the time slots you want.
